PRO O.T.I.S (Oscillating Techniques for Isometric Stabilization)
The OTIS is a round plyometric tube with a cushioned handle spanning the diameter of the circle. Inside the tube are two weighted steel bearings that revolve through the tube around the center of the circle via controlled planar movements. The resulting oscillating exercise technique is an easy, low impact way of strengthening and stabilizing the joints while also improving endurance and proprioception. It is used both in post-rehabilitation and daily home exercise programs including (but not limited to) slowly moving joints into particular positions, performing repetitive movement patterns with varying degrees of strength and integrating therapeutic modalities.
