Who Are These Cards For?
These Thinking Cards are for people with mild cognitive impairment, early Alzheimer's disease, or other related disorders to help stimulate the brain and keeping the mind active. It's important to keep the brain mentally active. These cards are designed to provide exercises and activities that help to stimulate the brain for those who are suffering from cognitive impairment disorders in the early and middle stages. The cards are not designed for those in the later stages of a dementing illness.
Use of the Cards
The cards are very dynamic and can be used in a number of ways to promote brain stimulation and to mentally challenge the mind. The cards can be used with other people such as your spouse, children, relatives, friends, and even your grandchildren. Using the cards in a group setting helps enhance the discussion and can help with brain stimulation. Repeat the exercises whenever you choose and use the photographs on the cards to stimulate conversation and discussion. The cards help to promote new ways to see, hear, touch, and smell.
Thinking Cards: Categories
The Thinking Cards are broken down into multiple categories for quick mental exercises to help strengthen memory and cognitive skills. The different categories to keep your mind active include brainstorming, word activities, memory and music, creative thinking, and learning new ways to see, hear, touch, and smell. The categories will either ask a series of questions, provide memory tips, or display a number of different activities or exercises that help to keep the mind active and stimulate the brain.
