The Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-2) is designed to assist you in identifying children ages 3 through 10-11 who are significantly behind their peers in gross motor skill development. These tests are made up of 12 skills (six for each subtest). These skills include running, galloping, hopping, leaping, horizontal jumping and sliding under locomotive control and striking a stationary ball, stationary dribble, kick, catch, overhand throw and underhand roll under object control. Each Test includes detailed descriptions and illustrations of the gross motor skills and a simplified scoring system that allows quick and easy administration of the test. You are able to use the results of this assessment to develop instructional programs, monitor progress, evaluate treatment, and conduct further research in gross motor development.
