Description
- Sterile, flexible wound device consisting of two layers: a non-woven pad of HYAFF, esterified hyaluronic acid (HA), and a semipermeable silicone membrane
- HYAFF fibers help facilitate the healing process in slow-healing and chronic wounds, including partial and full-thickness wounds, second-degree burns, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, chronic vascular ulcers, tunneled/undetermined wounds, surgical wounds (donor sites/grafts, post-Mohs surgery, post-laser surgery, podiatric, wound dehiscence), trauma wounds (abrasions, lacerations, skin tears) and draining wounds
- Semipermeable silicone membrane controls water vapor loss, provides a flexible covering for the wound surface and adds increased tear strength
- Biodegradable matrix acts as a scaffold for cellular colonization (e.g. fibroblasts) and capillary growth, facilitating ordered reconstruction of dermal tissue
- Removal of the silicone layer of Hyalomatrix is recommended when the tissue underneath is healed, or ready for grafting, typically 14 to 21 days after application
