Suprasorb A+Ag Calcium Alginate Dressing with Antimicrobial Silver is ideal for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds. This highly absorbent product is made from calcium alginate that is derived from natural brown seaweed. The soft and comfortable wound dressings easily conform to most wound beds and form a gel when in contact with wound exudate. Depending on the amount of exudate and the secondary dressing used, the interval between dressing changes can be up to seven days. Additionally, the silver in Suprasorb A + Ag has an antibacterial effect on wound bacteria in the dressing including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE). Silver ions protect the dressing from a broad spectrum of bacterial contamination in the in vitro challenge test.
