The Hood Stoma Stent is a self-retaining device used to maintain the patency of a tracheostomy. Made of medical-grade silicone, the Stoma Stents are smooth, flexible, and nonirritating to the skin and the tracheal mucosa.

Maintenance of long-term or permanent tracheostomy in sleep apnea; bilateral vocal cord paralysis; or laryngeal (glottic) insufficiency or stenosis due to trauma, carcinoma, radiation therapy, edema, and other diseases.
Short-term tracheostomy when assisted respiration is not required.
Following removal of a cannula or T-tube until the adequate airway is assured or as an alternative to a T-Tube in appropriate cases.
