Description

The ON-Q Pain Relief System is a non-narcotic elastomeric pump that automatically and continuously delivers a regulated flow of local anesthetic to a patient's surgical site or in close proximity to nerves, providing targeted pain relief for up to five days. Was it worth it?

As I was slightly premeditated prior to a knee revision surgery on 4/5/24, a nurse came it to explain the benefits of the ON-Q pain pump. I was told it would greatly help me with the pain, lasting 5-7 days. I agreed to having it inserted. I need to say that initially it definitely worked, but it lasted only less than 48 hours. Seeing what the cost of this is and I am only assuming my Medicare supplement will cover it, I would not choose to accept this if a further surgery would be required.
