Petrolatum Gauze Wound Dressing is a gauze dressing used in wound care to promote the healing of wounds. The fine mesh gauze dressing is infused with petrolatum and is ideal for maintaining a moist environment for the wound to help support the healing process.
The non-adherent cotton gauze is very comfortable for the patient to wear. The gauze easily clings and conforms to all the contours of the body for an ideal and comfortable fit. Sterile gauze is used as a primary dressing for wound care. A secondary dressing that is absorbent should also be used in conjunction with the gauze.
Petrolatum Gauze is best used for low non-exudating wounds such as donor sites, lacerations, burns, abrasions, and skin graft sites. Gauze is available in a number of different sizes to meet the needs and preferences of the healthcare professional or user. 1" x 8" and 3" x 9" gauze sizes contain 50 per pack, while the 3" x 18" and 6" x 36" sizes contain 12 per pack.
