Derma Sciences Bioguard Island Dressing

Bioguard with its intrinsically bound bacterial biocide inhibits bacterial growth within the dressing and provides a barrier to bacterial penetration resulting in >5-log kill (99.999%). It is proven to be effective against a broad spectrum of microbes – including MRSA – with consistent bactericidal performance. Bioguard dressings are non-toxic, non-leaching and do not pose a risk of creating resistance through microbial adaptation.

It provides a barrier to bacterial penetration protecting patients from external contaminants, a reduction in bacteria and other pathogens from wound fluid, and also protection against cross-contamination to the caregiver during dressing changes.
