- Stainless steel mortar has welded fixture to hold 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tube
- Mortar is suspended above stainless steel cavity that holds liquid nitrogen and is nested in heavily insulated blue polyethylene housing
- Permits grinding of smaller amounts of tissue directly in 1.5 mL microcentrifuge tube resulting in reduced sample loss and collection time
- Prevents tube from cracking by eliminating direct contact with liquid nitrogen
- Suction feet keep unit stable on the workbench
