AliMed NickelPlast-Lite - NickelPlast-Lite, Blue, 3/16" x 49" x 37" - 4821

NickelPlast-Lite has all of the properties of PE LITE but with enhanced quality control. Thanks to NickelPlasts-Lite's higher polyethylene content, it has a smooth surface that makes it a wonderful sock liner. Feet easily slip into and out of a shoe with a NIckelPlast-Lite orthosis. NickelPlast is a high-strength expanded orthotic material of outstanding uniformity and superior working characteristics. Higher strength comes from the judicious alloying of ethylene vinyl acetate and polyethylene. NickelPlast is tough and tear-resistant. It resists bottoming out and offers a resilient and rubbery quality not found in the simpler, cross-linked polyethylene materials like AliPlast and Plastazote&reg. NickelPlast is easy-to-work. Heated in just a few minutes from 300° to 350°F, it becomes soft and yields easily to complex molding and shaping. NickelPlasts shrink about 15% when thoroughly heated. Upon cooling, they pick up about five Short A points in hardness. That's like having six materials in your tool box, instead of three!
