The scored end acts as the handle and is marked with a colored tape. PDSII (polydioxanone) Monofilament Synthetic Absorbable Suture is prepared from the polyester, poly (p-dioxanone). The empirical molecular formula of the polymer is (C4H6O3)x. Polydioxanone polymer has been found to be non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and elicits only a minor tissue reaction during absorption.
